Ruling BJD-BJP resorts to Dharna to protest shifting of NIS (UNI, newkerala.com)

Bhubaneswar: The ruling BJD-BJP members today resorted to a sit-in before the statue of Mahamta Gandhi inside the Assembly premises protesting against the proposed shifting of the NIS to Kolkata.

Carrying placards and banners, about 20 ruling party MLAs including women members, remained away during the question hour and staged demonstration shouting slogans against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairpersons Sonia Gandhi.

The dharna continued for nearly one hour and the agitated MLAs returned to the house during the zero hour to take part in the proceedings of the house.
