SP threatens agitation on NIS issue
Pioneer News Service / Bhubaneswar
The Samajwadi Party on Wednesday threatened to launch a state-wide agitation on the issue of the shifting of National Institute of Science ( NIS) from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, party's Orissa unit president, Baishnab Parida said all the party should come forward and unite on this issue. " In order to protect the interest of the State, all the political parties should put a stiff opposition to Centre on this issue," Mr Parida said.
"The State parties should fight for the cause until the Centre allocates fund for the establishment of the institution", he added.
Mr Parida said that the UPA Government's clarification on the issue saying that the previous NDA Government did not allocate any funds for the establishment of the institution is not acceptable.
