Times of India (NDA stages walkout in RS)
NEW DELHI: Opposition NDA on Tuesday staged a walkout in the Rajya Sabha to press for setting up of a National Institute of Science at Bhubaneswar, charging the UPA government with ignoring states ruled by non-UPA parties.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, BJ Panda (BJD) accused the Centre of playing regional politics by denying such facility to Orissa though UGC has selected Bhubaneswar besides Chennai, Pune and Allahabad for setting up such institutes.
Supporting him, senior BJP member Sushma Swaraj said government should give an assurance in the House that the institute would be set up in Bhubaneswar.
Otherwise, it would be lead to unrest, she said...
